Unlike the compressor of a traditional "On/Off" heat pump, which operates at a constant speed (100%), the compressor of an inverter heat pump can vary its power from 20 to 100%, depending on operating conditions and outside temperature.

Conversely, when the heating demand is low, especially around the set point, the Inverter compressor uses its operating ranges at low speeds (between 25 and 50%).
